Easter Puppet Shows!

It doesn't feel like spring yet, but Easter is only weeks away.
This year, we are bringing back "The Tale of Bunny Cotton-Tail," a hand and rod puppet show based on the Beatrix Potter-like stories of Platteville's Laura Rountree Smith.

11 a.m. & 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12
2 p.m. Sunday, April 13
11 a.m. & 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19

This is the story of a rambunctious bunny who burns his paw while reading in bed by candlelight. He has adventures in Farmer Jones's cabbage patch with his friend, Susan Rabbit. There's a wise old owl, a not-so-wise fox and Bunny's very patient Mother Bunny, as well as Farmer Jones and his two children.
This show is an especially good introduction to puppet theater for little ones, but it also includes some chuckles for the grown-ups.
And to get you into an Easter mood, the pink and blue interior of the opera house will be chock full of stuffed rabbits, baskets and colored eggs.

NOTE: We have yet to actually conduct that marionette workshop, which was to have started on March 22. But we did not have enough kids signed up. We will reschedule it and this time we'll put a deadline on registration and specify a class minimum. We are considering hosting something like a puppet summer camp, with 2-hour daily sessions for a 4 to 5 days. We'd be interested in comments and suggestions.
