Pup-a-foo-glee Plans

We are pleased to announce the schedule for the 2018 Pup-a-Foo-Glee, our annual festival of Puppets, Food and Fun!
This FREE day for families and puppet lovers of all ages will be

Saturday, June 16

(That is the day before Father's Day)

(Be aware: This schedule is subject to change.)
The fun begins at 10 a.m. (although you can come early. Grownups: we WILL have the coffee pot on!) First up is

"Ollie's Garden"
by Wayne Krefting of Minnesota

"Ollie is a young dog, with lots of energy but is easily distracted. Ollie helps to guard the garden from a hungry rabbit who wants to eat the carrots. Help Ollie guard the garden and make sure he doesn't fall asleep. I wonder . . . what would Ollie dream of anyway . . . .

After the show, there will be time to meet and greet this guest puppeteer and his puppets.
Then, when everyone is ready, we will set up tables and get ready for our first workshop. At this writing (April 23), we plan to have kids make a paper caterpillar puppet. This performance and make-and-take are aimed at our younger audience members, but the show is for all ages and older kids will enjoy this project and are free to ad lib.

During the more-or-less noontime break, there will be concessions (for a fee) on the street as well as activities including chalk drawing, theater games, picture painting and the ever popular puppet petting zoo. (If the weather is uncooperative, we will have fun indoors.)

At 1 p.m., the Fever River Puppeteers will perform "Scribble," the story of a magical mouse who takes four kids on an adventure inside their own stories. (We created this show and performed it in eight area schools in 2015, thanks for a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board.)

But wait! There's more! After "Scribble," which is about 50 minutes long, we will get the tables back and make yet another puppet, at about 2 p.m.. This one will be a quick version of a rod puppet similar to some of the puppets in the show.

At this point, we hope you will be deliriously happy and tired, full of puppet fun and ideas and ready to go home, as Pup-a-foo-glee wraps up at about 3 p.m.
